Zach has come down with a bit of a cold. He has a fever and as we lay here cuddled with the pets, he is starting to cough. I have chicken soup simmering on the stove.

I wrap him up in my arms. "How are you feeling? Did you take the medicine?"

"I did... I don't feel that bad... just blah, you know?" I say.

[chris_w_pine]

"Well, I am going to take care of you and make sure it never progresses past blah, okay..." I say and press a kiss to his forehead.

[ersatzach]

"I don't want to get you sick," I say.

[chris_w_pine]

"I'll be okay," I assure him. "Just relax, okay?"

[ersatzach]

"You're the best husband ever," I say, snuggling as close as possible.

[chris_w_pine]

"Do you have any other husbands to compare me to?" I tease him gently as I tuck the blanket around him.

[ersatzach]

"No... I just can't dream of a better one..." I say.

[chris_w_pine]

"Well, good..." I smile. I kiss the top of his head. "Do you want to watch TV until the soup is ready?"

[ersatzach]

"I bet you'd have been good... " I smile. "I'm glad you chose acting..."

[chris_w_pine]

"I believe we would have met regardless..." I say softly. "But...yeah, I'm glad I did, too."

[ersatzach]

"Somehow I think so too..." I say and sniffle. "I can't imagine a world without you and me together..."

[chris_w_pine]

"Me, either," I say and reach for a tissue. "Blow..."

[ersatzach]

I hold the blanket around me, check my texts. I reply to my brother, my agent... and Chris' dad who asks how I'm doing.

I return to the living room with a tray...two steaming bowls of soup and bottles of water. "There's plenty more so eat up,' I tell him and notice that he's smiling at me. "What?" He shows me the message from my dad. "Yeah...I kinda told him that you were under the weather..." I say sheepishly.

"YOur dad is so sweet," I say. "Like his son." I take a spoonful of soup. "Mmmmm perfect."

[chris_w_pine]

"You're not angry that I told him?" I ask as I start in on my soup. I end up telling m parents almost everything...and maybe I should really not be doing that.

[ersatzach]

"The soup is fantastic," I say. "This is your mom's mom? The movie star?"

[chris_w_pine]

"Yes," I grin. "She taught my dad how to make it the first time my mom got sick after they got married. He had called her and asked her what he could do to make mom feel better and Gram told him to make a pot of soup."

[ersatzach]

"That's sweet," I say. "Well its amazing soup..."

[ersatzach]

"YOu think of everything," I say.

[chris_w_pine]

"I try to..." I say softly. "I hope I do...for you..." I lean in and kiss his cheek. "Finish your soup."

[ersatzach]

I do as he tells me, the soup is really good. "Thanks for this."

[ersatzach]

I nod. He helps me up. I'm feeling a bit congested so the bath should be good.

[chris_w_pine]

He head up to the bathroom and I run a very hot bath, add the bath oil and it fills the room with fragrant steam. "This will help open up your airways..."

He gets in first and I settle in with my back against his chest."Mmmmm..."
